"611 Cup" 20th Graduate Academic Forum, NUAA and the grand opening of the Yifu Hall in the Ming Palace Campus on the morning of December 7. Professor Tianjian Lu was invited to attend and did the topic "Multifunctional Lightweight Crossing of Porous Materials and Structures" Lecture on scale design and application.
Professor Lu first introduced the phenomenon of natural phenomena in the natural world. In the natural world, it includes many lightweight and multi-functional structures. The liquid-containing sandwich structure similar to the skull has great application prospects in damping buffer. Subsequently, Professor Lu gave a more specific description of the definition of porous materials, so that the teachers and students had a certain understanding of porous materials and their classification and application.
Later, Professor Lu eloquently described the hardships and efforts of the generation of people in the 1970s and 1980s. 5.7 million people from the age of 17 to 37 years old participated in the 1977 college entrance examination, and the 29:1 admission ratio is really unbelievable today, and the competition is fierce. In 1978, the Ministry of Education resumed postgraduate enrollment. In the same year, more than 10,000 people were enrolled. Compared with the current 700,000 postgraduate admission places, it is even more unimaginable. Usually, amateur entertainment is outdoor activities and old-fashioned movie cloth; food is still used for food stamps; without computer, all calculation work can only be done manually. Even so, Professor Lu successfully completed his undergraduate and master's degree studies, and his excellent graduation thesis was collected by school.
After graduating from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1987, Professor Lu went to Hong Kong University, Harvard University, Cambridge University and taught at Cambridge University for more than ten years. He became the first Chinese professor in engineering technology in the 800-year history of Cambridge University. Returned to China in 2005. Professor Lu’s road to study had also gone through the journey of China-Europe-USA-China, as the world has developed.
"As a Chinese scholar, no matter how good the courtesy we received outside, we are always a passer-by from other places. From beginning to end, our roots are all in China," Professor Lu said affectionately to all the outstanding graduate students present. After returning to China in 2005, Professor Lu "oriented the international frontier; facing the major needs of the country; facing the main battlefield of the national economy" established a key laboratory for multifunctional materials and structures at Xi'an Jiaotong University, from basic theory to technology research and development to application promotion. It has made outstanding contributions in the fields of lightweight load bearing, vibration and noise reduction, armor protection and biomechanics.
In the nearly one-hour lecture, Professor Lu gave a wonderful lecture with personal experience, and the applause continued. At the end of the questioning session, everyone actively spoke，Professor Lu gave a professional and meticulous answer to these questions.
